Mi Unlock is the official tool provided by Xiaomi for unlocking the bootloader on their Android devices. Once the bootloader is unlocked, users have the ability to customize the recovery, gain root access, and install custom ROMs. By using Mi Unlock on a PC, it is possible to easily unlock the bootloader on all Xiaomi smartphones. To use Mi Unlock, users must first enable the 'OEM Unlock' and 'USB Debugging' options in the device's settings. Additionally, a Xiaomi account must be linked to the device you wish to unlock. This can be done within the Developer Settings, which also require a SIM card to be inserted into the device. After downloading and unzipping the Mi Unlock file, users must run 'miflash_unlock.exe' and login with their Xiaomi account. The device must be powered off and then put into Fastboot mode by holding the power and volume down buttons simultaneously. Once in Fastboot mode, connect the device to the PC via USB and press the 'unlock' button. If the 'unlock' button is not clickable, users can update the USB connection drivers by clicking on the cogwheel icon and selecting the first 'check' button. After waiting for 168 hours (7 days), users can return to unlock the bootloader by reconnecting the device to the PC and pressing the 'unlock' button.
